Subject: Do you think poorer people are nicer people?
It's a matter of perspective. I came from India over 20+ years ago. Very few people had cars. If you see someone at the bus stop or walking somewhere, you'd stop and offer a ride. That's the expectation.
When i came to the US to go to grad school, no one (people I knew, who lived next door, etc) would stop to pick me up at the bus stop! I was shocked and thought everyone was not nice. It's a cultural thing. Rich people never stop because they have rarely have a car break down so they find it difficult to empathize.
I personally don't stop for strangers because who knows if that person is carrying a gun or what not. I'm sure most people think along those lines too..
