Same. And our bus stop has a big group of kids and we make a big deal about the 1st day at the bus stop. Group pictures are taken. The big kids cheer the new kindergartners, who have usually been coming along with older siblings for a long time. I'm glad we didn't miss that.

No. I’m not sure they’ll let parents even do that.

I did tell her and follow the bus to school, but she didn’t see me when she got off and went inside.

I walked DD to the classroom and settled her in. I was crying when I kissed her goodbye. She gave me a look like “geez mom, why are you crying?” because she was already itching to work on the coloring page at her desk.

Ou school allows parents to walk to door of classroom for first two days. By first grade, we just took her the first day and then the second, she just wanted to be dropped off at door.

Ha, as it turns out, this isn't always true. I assumed it as well. But, alas, my DD remembered freaking everything, including crap I forgot the moment it was over.

Just figure out what everyone else at your school does, and do it.
