NP but I saw Dirty Dancing when I was 8. Many of my friends saw it around the same age. As far as I know, nobody was traumatized by it.
Just because you weren't "traumatized", that does not make it an appropriate choice. I mean, I'd rather not explain a botched abortion to my 8 year old, but you do you.
