Yes! Love that movie, but it's not on Amazon or Netflix.

I Am Sam.

Just watched this with DD 11 and she loved it. It was a good bonding connected kind of movie.

I recommend the John Hughes movies (sixteen candles?) or all those hilarious John Candy movies. Anything with Steve Martin!

How about Flashdance? I loved that movie!
Dirty Dancing for sure, if they haven't seen it.
Have fun!

Are you crazy?

NP but I saw Dirty Dancing when I was 8. Many of my friends saw it around the same age. As far as I know, nobody was traumatized by it.

Just because you weren't "traumatized" , that does not make it an appropriate choice. I mean, I'd rather not explain a botched abortion to my 8 year old, but you do you.

OP said her kids are 12 and 14
Dirty Dancing is PG13, I think? It seems appropriate to me, but I'm sure OP can figure out what her kids would like.

What a good reminder on the difference in ages on this board! I was married, out of graduate school, and had been working for several years by then.

Absolutely love the movie - wonderful choice.

PP here. I was actually a bit older than 14, but I'm sure it would have been my favorite movie then as well.
