What is the deal with tightening upper lids?

Not the PP, but I was taught how to do this by a makeup artist at Nordstrom at 15 years old and I have done it every day since then. I am almost 34 and swear I could do it in the back of a moving car without a mirror at this point. The technique itself it really just pushing liner up into your lashes from the bottom up, in between the lashes. You can use a pencil, but I am a powder and brush kinda gal and find it easier and a cleaner line, so here is what I do!

You get a brush like this (or pencil, but see above)

You wet it with some water and dip into a cake liner, like this one below. A solid black eyeshadow will also work. Really swirl it around. The wetter your brush, the more intense your pigment and liner. I go for it!

Then you push the flat liner brush in between your lashes. I also frequently hold it stationary and blink my lashes onto it. It's really easy.

This video is a bit long, but this is basically it. She does make a good point about tightlinging versus hitting the lashline. It mostly makes your lashes look thick. Bonus- it lasts and doesn't smudge AT ALL.

I am fair, blonde haired, and blue eyed. People are shocked I wear black eyeliner everyday. However, applied in this way, it is really not harsh, I swear. Give it a try!

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this! I’m a klutz with eyeliner but this sounds doable.

Thanks for this! I used to tightline but got out of the habit. It really makes my eyes look better, especially since my lids are too small for regular above-the-lashes eyeliner. I'll have to start doing it again!

I went back home (Russia) and every female relative asked to teach them tightlining They loved how my eyes looked. I sent a number of brushes and cake liners there after that

I learned that Mclean Bible Church really is a cult and I was able to alert some loved ones to steer clear.

I found out about the WHC Midwives here and I'm so glad I did.

I've learned a lot about neighborhoods on here. We're looking to maybe buy in the next 2-3 years so that'll be incredibly valuable.

What are the skincare and hair towel tips?

The hair towel is the Aquis microfiber hair towel. I wrap my hair in it after a shower and it absorbs much more water than a regular towel making the drying process faster (which is important because I of course use the Revlon dryer and that works best on damp rather than wet hair).
