To provide a real answer, if you look at a typical higher level club team, there will be a handful of kids that meet the lax bro stereotype. But the majority of kids this really doesn’t describe. Kids are largely white and at least upper middle class. But there’s lot of quiet and shy kids on these teams. The common denominator is the kids tend to have a parent that has a connection to the game -i.e., from Baltimore, local and played at one of the private schools, part of the MoCo Catholic sports crowd, etc. But personality-wise, the bro ethic is less common than some people may think.

When someone uses the term "lax bro", it means "I can't afford private school my kid sucks at lacrosse, so I have to sneer at private school lacrosse players in order to salve my wounded ego".

Not all lacrosse players are lax bros. I was an accomplished player and I can't stand the lax bro ethic. In my experience, most lax bros play lacrosse year round and are weaker athletes. I enjoyed competing with the football/basketball/wrestler athletes that also played lacrosse. It's too bad there's such an emphasis on specializing in lacrosse year round. The product is worse, don't let it happen!
