I'm confused. What does "a lot of the time" mean? Does the kid stay with his father the rest of the time in bounds? Why would you report that?
Anonymous wrote:Of course, OP. That's exactly what friends do. Snitch.

Does anything actually get done about this though?
We are going into our 6th year at our ES and have seen dozens of families who live out of boundary. Nobody bats an eye! The parents are often very upfront about it.
I think it is incredibly difficult to catch when people are using family members addresses. How do you prove that Larlo does not actually live with Grandma or Aunt Betty? No way they can ever actually prove fraud.

No it isn't common. You just seem to know a lot of people who disregard the law.
Start reporting it. It costs $15-20k to educate each kid in MCPS, most schools are busting at the seams, classroom caps are at all-time highs, and teacher/student ratios are the worst of all surrounding states.
This is factually incorrect.
(The information about the teacher/student ratios may also be factually incorrect, but I don't know.)
28 in K,
30 in ES
33 in MS
35 in HS
those are pretty high caps. I called all three a few months ago when trying to decide where to go and that potentially could be your child's classroom size.

There is no sense in educating children who do not live here nor their parents. It essentially means we are missing out on tax money if their parents are not living in the county. Judging by the curriculum debac[b]le and the class sizes MCPS needs all the help it can get.
