They are awful and gave me cramps and pain worse than child birth and a 5 year long infection - but by all means put that in your DD.

I thought you couldn't get an IUD unless you had given birth first? That's what I was told when I got my IUD.

Overkill and creepy. Trust me your kid will not have any difficulty accessing condoms at college. He doesn't need mommy and daddy to pack them for him.

I don't know why people think this is helicoptering - they may be adults on paper but they can still use our counsel on certain things. I don't have any feeling about parents being proactive and packing condoms but for goodness sake find out if they even know where to go for condoms and how to protect themselves, not just physically but also emotionally.


Ordering for your kid because they asked while you happen to be on amazon, or picking up their prescription on your way home from work is WAY different than OP packing for her adult child heading off to college and debating whether or not to stick condoms in her suitcase.

It is helicoptering at its finest.

OTC, yes. Some pharmacies keep it behind the counter and you need to ask for it. Some keep it on the shelf.

OTC, yes. Some pharmacies keep it behind the counter and you need to ask for it. Some keep it on the shelf.

They can pack their own. If they're mature enough to be having sex, they are mature enough to pack their own or buy their own. If they want they can take them from our hall closet along with soap, extra toothbrushes and shampoo.
