Anonymous wrote:I realize all the mixed-messages displaying an American flag in front of your conveys, and I could see how people who didn't know you might make assumptions or stereotype you. There are a few homes on our street, including one directly across from me now, that have American flags, but other people have their university flag, or the pride flag, or even Capitals flags right now. To me, they all seem sorta tacky. We don't have a covenant, so there's no rules about it.

I just worry about what people would think of us if we had a flag. Like they would assume we were right wing, or worse. Because that's the type of people I most often see with the American flag, and I wonder why people don't think of this before they put stuff like that up in front of their house for the whole world to see.

We display the flag 24/7. Our dc is a West Point graduate who sadly would die for your pathetic self.

Why do the liberals feel the need to point out that they’re liberal when justifying flying the flag?

I’m very liberal and have an American flag. Along with a MD flag, and a Santa Claus flag. I live in a very diverse neighborhood and a lot of people fly American flags from time to time. Weird to think of it As tacky or having some weird motive.

How do you know from that (odd) post that the person is "right-wing"?

Because he can see their post history. This is a troll!

Without the person signing in?

Yes. Jeff runs the site. He can tell.

Yes-presumably via IP address.

Nothing more patriotic than displaying the Washington family coat-of-arms! You go girl!

And there is nothing tacky about flying the flag! Goodness ...

Moderate. We fly the flag because we're proud to be Americans. Plus it's Memorial Day weekend. I'd assume someone flying it this weekend has lost someone overseas fighting or is supporting those who have died.

Just seeing my flag flying makes me proud.

Exactly. You have a problem with the flag, comrade?

If someone has the American flag flying every single day ... it can be one indication that they might (just might) be in-your-face intense. But they definitely are when they have erected a huge flag pole centered in their yard and it all looks too much like a car dealership.

Hey, speak for yourself. I put my American flag out on my porch, live in DC area and I am a Democrat.

Np. Why?

Why what? I'm the pp. Need more of the question to figure out what you are asking.

Anonymous wrote:One of the nice things about a strong HOA is notndealing with peoples desire to fly flags. Decorate, signs, etc.

We do allow flags but honestly the only guy flying one is this crazy old geezer who I hope goes away one day.

Put out a political sign it’s gone by morning.
Love love love our management company.
They do a drive thru each day on their way home.

If you have some out in violation it’s removed immediately.
No warnings, no letters, just trashed immediately.

Love love love it.

Hate HOAs but would love this!
