From that perspective, I think Kate's dress made more of an impact in that large space. But Meghan certainly understands the close up much better, and for close-in photographs her choice was a great decision. She looks stunning, and the dress doesn't draw your eye away from her radiant face. I also prefer her choice of tiara, but that is more of a reflection of Kate vs. Meghan's personalities and tastes, I would guess.

Regardless, I do think that this dress will set a trend of going back to 60s inspired dresses. Which is probably a better look for many brides. My preference is for a bit more adornment on the dress, but I'm Indian-American, so...

Kate's dress made a young woman look matronly. Whereas, Meghan's dress made a mature woman look young, fresh, and fashionable.

I liked Meghan's dress and veil, but it really was over the top for a second wedding. I would have liked to seen her wear a color other than white and certainly not a long veil.

Having said that, some of the pictures from the wedding were stunning and will stand the test of time. I wasn't crazy about the tiara she chose, but it complements the dress and veil so that was fine. Her hair was a disaster as usual. Why they couldn't have made sure it wasn't falling in her face on one of the most important days of her life is beyond me.

Kate's dress was lovely but that bodice was ridiculous, making her breasts look pointy. Also, it was too low-cut in the front and you could actually see her chest bones. Not a good look for her because she was so thin at that point. I didn't like the short veil at all, but she could not have had a long veil with her sister walking behind her carrying her train. That was a unique look and they pulled it off well. Kate should have worn her hair up because it was all over the place and distracting.

Poor Diana's is dress was hideous and I thought so at the time, too. The fabric wrinkled horribly in the carriage and as she disembarked her dress was a wrinkled mess. Her hair was also messed up, like no one had sprayed it and the bangs wilted against her forehead.

I can easily critique these women in their dresses because I wouldn't have looked a fraction as good on my best day and this is the internet.

Even horrible Camilla knew not to wear white for her second wedding. Why didn’t Meghan?

There was an interview/documentary with Diana's dress designers right before Will and Kate's wedding. They said that they didn't plan/realize that the carriage Diana rode in to the Cathedrall would be too small to keep the fabric from getting crumpled. There was so much fabric!!!!

NP. I was 8yrs old when Charles and Diana got married and I thought it was the ultimate in princess, fairytale wedding dresses. Most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. Now I find it very dated to the 80s but still amazing for what it was.

NP. I still adore Diana's dress -- the luxurious fabric that shimmered! The detailing! The bows and lace! Still adore it.

I am very happy Meghan choose a sleek, unadorned, style. It suits her perfectly. That's what I thought she should wear.

However! It does not seem to be properly fitted - perhaps she lost a little weight. The heavy fabric doesn't sit that well on her small frame - I would have gone with a lighter silk, perhaps weighing the ends. I am also not fond of the clash of different whites (shoes, dress and veil). I also wish she had not chosen such a delicate veil, or had a veil at all, because it is not in keeping with the dress.

But overall, a much better choice, for her, than anything with lace or ruffles.
