Shake your head. Like “no.”

It’s silent but still responsive.

When someone is full of sh*t I just say ‘that’s not accurate’

What you said doesn’t work for me. I think we want different things and communicate said things differently. Let’s each move on. Separately.

“Larlo, when we talked about x, you said y. I think we both know that your comments were inaccurate. Anyway, I have enjoyed our time but I’m going to leave while the party is still fun. Thanks for everything and I wish you the best. And please don’t forget to send me the $100 you borrowed.”

Say "yeah, right!" and make a face like they are crazy. Or replace shit with baloney. Or I detect BS!

Most of the PPs above are suggesting you be passive aggressive. To thebonebpp, don't teach your teen to be that way.

The best way to deal with someone who is or seems full of shit is to be honest without snark. If you can't do that because the person is your boss and you no know there'd be negative consequences, then you just ignore and move on.

I agree with this. Passive agreesiveness is just rude. You are never fooling anyone. Either plainly, and maturely express your disagreement or ignore it. You do not have to acknowledge some else's bs.

Now, condescending pompous jerks who have no manners and who might want to come off as better/smarter than others could probably question the other person on the matter with such a level of specificity on the subject that the other person is backed into a corner and looks like an idiot.

+1

Agree with the first part. Don't waste your time with ignorant people, OP. Rule number one. No faces/staring/"challenging" - faces/staring/"challenging" is for small children only. You are presumably more sophisticated than a small child. And never, ever (ever) stoop to the rude person's level. Ever.

Yes playing dumb is just so much more "sophisticated". It's unfortunate that American adults these days can't handle a civil conversation about things. We all just hide in our little bubbles with people we agree with 100%.

"Playing dumb"? Confused. Are you responding to the correct thread?
