OP - have you tried different positions? If I'm on top it takes my DH a lot longer than if I'm on my stomach or doggy style. I'm usually the one who suggests the position based on my mood.

My DH is 64 and I'm 61 and I'm glad he's lost some of his staying power because PIV for a long period is uncomfortable for me. I've never timed it....way too busy....but I'd guess he orgasms after about 5 minutes. Years ago we'd go 5 minutes in three different positions and now it's one position at a time. I'm fine with that because our foreplay is much more extensive and that's what I need to orgasm. Quite possibly DH's staying power may be less than it use to be because the foreplay is more intense and varied. Regardless, while things have changed we both seem to be very happy.

Try just a 1/4 tab of Viagra or 25 mgs. One of the effects of V is, like it or not, it makes you last longer. I'm not sure why but it seems to have kind of a numbing effect. Also, you mentioned he isn't usually ready for round 2 that same day. With V, he may well be ready for another round in very little time and the second time should last even longer.

I have no ideas about what's caused the shift. My husband is in his fifties, and for the 20+ years I've been with him, he's had no staying power. We make sure we do things that satisfy me, before, during, and after. There's no one right way.

Kids are with grandma and/or away at sleepovers.

Could it be stress? My SO (age 56) usually lasts for a very long time. The only exception has been when he's so stressed out that the stressors are affecting him even during the most joyful time for us. Then he was done in a few minutes.

Condom
PE Cream
C-Ring
Frequent masturbation could be contributing factor but no hard evidence

Best and most enduring approach is learning to control the urge. Little "trick" - if you manage to pass the initial urge (which is like a mini E) you will last a lot longer after that.
