That would make sense

Then no Principal just like Chesterbrook.

The interim principal at Chesterbrook started out as a teacher at Chesterbrook and used to be the principal at Carson MS. I'd say he's probably up to the task.

The trouble is that they can’t find a replacement. He was only supposed to be able to stay there until December. I dont know how they got around the retirement requirements, but it appears that they did. He is an interim. They have had a year to fill the spot. No one is coming forward to take it. That is the problem.

No one wants to deal the parents.

Thanks so much for the insight - that is helpful. I agree, going to the PTA meeting and having parents' voice heard is important. Can prospective parents attend?

Haycock parent here who got an email about this from another parent.

In the email, it said it was only for grades 3-5 where they would stop the different classes. Like the pp I have concerns about that. My child is in 4th and goes to a different teacher for math now.

Two things: this isn’t the first time Jereme Donnelly the principal has done something completely tone deaf. Case in point, trying to cancel the popular kindergarten Halloween parade, but there are many other things related to managing the teachers and the school.

And 2nd, if you really care about the issue, attend the PTA meeting this coming Wednesday. He can’t refuse to talk to parents like he did the teachers.

This doesn't sound legit.

I think FCPS and the new principal want to make Haycock less of a high-achieving school in order to reduce crowding.

Does this start next year? All grades? AAP? Confused because we still have different teachers.

Plenty of parents and teachers have been less than thrilled with this guy and this will only make things worse. By pushing him out, would that be a FCPS board issue?

Haycock going down hill with this new principal and the teachers leaving.

Definitely not the "powerhouse" it once was 20 years ago. Many AAP eligible students staying at Chesterbrook and F Sherman base schools for it's own LL4 programs.

Twenty years ago? Then the changes by the current principal are fine, then, or at least won't reduce the "powerhouse" rank any more than the old principal did.

The principal read a prepared statement to all the teachers yesterday morning and literally said “no questions”. This is no way to lead or collaborate with anyone. Calling all cars! PTA?
