I am so very sorry. This is abusive. Someone needs to show all this to P. Fitz and demand action. I would also show it to the PTA President and contact FFX School Board and Mt. Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck, he knows the school very well. Enough is enough.


To the poster before me, this is my first time on this board. I also work in the area but our precious ones are out on the other side of Springfield. I went on here because we are thinking of moving into the Fort Hunt/Hollin Hall area just because we are tired of commuting. I don't know, this SACC issue does sound like gambling. How can you as parents let it go on? Are you really afraid of this woman?


PP here, and I no longer live in the area. I am in the Midwest now, but would certainly act if I were there. I didn't have direct problems with her in my interactions, but things like my kid peeing her pants were just unacceptable. Based on what others have said, she is clearly a major problem. If still there, I would confront any accountable leader - It's just in my nature, but I realize not everyone is like that. And I'm sure it's hard being called a racist in retaliation for addressing issues, especially when so many parents choose Ft. Hunt for it's diversity. That being said, I certainly hope a few parents band together. I know the area is known for people keeping their heads down (ironically, as many are drawn there as public servants), but think of the next Kindergartner who starts there and is frightened. It's really absurd that she wields so much power. Isn't the principal's daughter in SACC?

I work for FCPS. I have kids at a SACC. I might have to make a few inquires, and see if we can get someone in to address the issues at Fort Hunt. Yes the one parent is right. The employees do go on these sites to see what is said. I do.

I have 3 kids in Fairfax County SACC. It disgusts me this can go on and still does. We don’t have any problems at our location. I have friends that work on Hinson Farm Road they are in the medical field. I hear they have problems there as well. This whole situation stinks!

Former SACC parent again. I had no idea things were that bad. We actually didn't have problems with her directly, but overall the vibe there wasn't what I wanted. If I had witnessed any of the above, I couldn't help but try to organize with other parents. No kids should be in her care if she is truly that reprehensible, and it's up to adults to bring that to light. If my kids were still in that school, I would do it. As it is, I'm 1000 miles away. This breaks my heart.

All our kids went to Fairhill. My experience is, you say something you are labeled a trouble maker. They will even talk about you to other parents to make you look bad. It’s a tactic. I have seen it time and again. Reading this thread reminded me how much I hated leaving my children in the hands of these people. I am originally from Arkansas. I have no family around. I work for DoD, and I am stuck here. I really wish I had put my kids in Catholic school, but we are beyond that. Be careful. You bring up issues the previous poster is correct, the will call CPS on you to get back at you. It’s disgusting, and just low.

You bring up good points, who is going to be the parent to step up and organize? It looks like the others are afraid to. I know I had arguments about SACC with my husband. My kids are in Riverside. I know the teacher they are talking about. She is the summer SACC teacher. People are afraid of her because she calls Child services on parents, she like to get revenge, as other parents posted. CPS gets in the mix they find stuff where there is nothing. Nothing can be gained going after Muhlani. She will tear everything apart just cause she can. Her supervisor will not go against her. Unfortunately that’s how it is.

I would still approach him again, as a group. PTA turnout at Ft. Hunt is actually much better than my current school in a much more urban district. They provide childcare and free dinner here, but most parents don't turn up, and many not by choice. We also have contracted before/after school care managed like SACC. I know it's an uphill battle, but give him these specific examples. If he says he can't do anything at that point, remind him the last time Ft. Hunt was in the WaPo. I totally agree with this. They don’t care cause SACC brings in a lot of cash. Think of all the kids packed into all those rooms across Fairfax County. The SACC teachers get away with a lot. I know most are pretty good. Still, the few that are nasty make it hard. I read another parent talk about how they close ranks to protect each other, YOUTHINK?!?! Yeah, they are not going after one of their own. It’s easier to make the parent look bad and force that family out, in my experience, you complain, you become the target, and no parents in NOVA will help. They would rather bury their heads in the sand and maintain the status quo. It just easier. Come on leave you seen parents around here?
