The answer is yes. Of course they are properly stored. The guns have both trigger locks and are in a a locked safe. Bullets are in another safe. Still not one person has asked.


This is us, too. I would answer truthfully, of course. Whether driving, at the pool, at the arcade, anywhere, I have always been extremely safety conscious when responsible for other people's kids. Our own children do not know how to access the gun safes. (TBH I don't either.)

You could not be more incorrect. My DH and I are both liberal Dems who are active in a group working for gun control and stricter gun laws. We have donated thousands of dollars to that cause. I'm not disclosing that we own a handgun exactly because I don't want crazy people knowing it's there. There is a reason that we need a gun in our home.

I'm not ashamed. But it's a security issue, and it's a personal, private choice. Are you too "ashamed" to tell people your garage door code, or the balance of your investment holdings, or what medications you're taking? Absolutely not about "shame."

Sweetie, if gun owners only killed each other, I would agree it was a private issue. But they don't. My kids lives are at stake and I find your lie particularly ugly and sinful.

I only happened couple of time, and it was preceded by a "I don't want my kid in a house with guns". I don't want your kid in my house, because of that phrase. I said that we have guns, problem solved.

I don't have a problem with guns, and I'm also a veteran. But I'm always confused by this. I've never known military servicemembers to bring their guns home from work with them.


It’s not his service weapon. But similar so he can go to the range and train. Also some antique firearms he received as presents.

I asked for the first time the other day. I didn't ask if they had them, just said "If you have guns, are they safely stored?" She responded that there were no guns in the home. Didn't seem remotely bothered by it. I'm glad I asked and will do so for all new play dates going forward.
