Grandparents wouldn't come, and frankly, I wouldn't want them to join. My parents are difficult, and when I vacationed with them with DD but without DH they didn't help change a single diaper. They watched her while I packed, but that was pretty much it. This was after they begggggggggged me to join them. Other grandparents can't join, either. They don't want to be away from home.


You chose to have children so please don't burden your parents or ILs.

Upgrade to business - the lay flat seat will be like a crib. Your kid can flop around as much as she wants/needs to get to sleep. You’ll get more help from the steward(desses).

I'd just take her - next flight may be nothing like the one your already took. 2nd choice would be to cancel - other options don't sound very good.

Are you close to this set of your grandparents? If so, I would go. I took DD to India at 11 mos to visit her great-grandmother, and then I took DS (whole family) at 7 mos. My grandmother passed a couple weeks after that second visit, and I think I would have regretted for the rest of my life if I hadn't taken the opportunity to have her meet my DS when I had the chance.

You will manage the flight one way or another...so it really depends on whether it's worth it to you to facilitate the visit.

I think your best bet is to cancel. Take a few of those days off, bring your baby to daycare and have a pampering day or two. Whatever floats your pampering gene.

This is why you do extended breastfeeding. Anytime our kid was ready to cry, my wife just stuck her boob in kid's mouth. End of crying. Worked for nearly three years.

We took our kid to Europe three times before the age of five. It's really the best time to travel with kids. Before they get snotty and have opinions of their own. They're just like an extra piece of luggage that you have to keep fed.

Lol you had a tough three hour flight so a flight to Europe is now insurmountable? My goodness. Does your anxiety impact your daily life in other ways as well?

Cancel. Then when your DH gets back use the tickets to go to Europe by yourself or with a girlfriend while baby stays with DH at home.

I avoided all travel until my son was 4. I just did not enjoy it at all.

Was planning to go with kid; it doesn't seem like it will work well, to go with her. That doesn't mean I wouldn't still want to go.

To any others who are reading this: go to Europe when your baby is between 5 and 8 months. Seriously the sweet spot
