If you don't think there is a "white" culture in the united states, you would be incorrect. White people have a distinct culture from hispanics, who have a distinct culture from blacks even though there are common areas of overlap like religion (black christianity is different from hispanic christianity even if the central tenets of the faith are the same, they are expressed in different cultural variations). There are certainly sub-cultures within each group, but each group has different sets of values and acts differently.

PP. You sound as if you either adopted a biracial child or created a child with a person of another race. People who do this often take on a lot of the curiosity that is shown them, and especially their child. Please don't take the poster as personally as you have probably taken other comments. Most people clearly understand that the demographics of the United States, and the world, are changing daily. I full expect to live in a "browning" world and really have no problem with it. There have been numerous great kingdoms throughout history all of which at one time seemed invincible but all of which eventually were eroded by the steady flow of time and eradicated by the continuous pressure of change, two basic forces of nature itself that cannot be stopped, so the seemingly invincible Empire of White Christian America will one day too find itself added to that aforementioned list because all things eventually come to an end.

I left the room, along with a handful of others, but I hung around long enough to complain to her - to her face - for allowing her extreme bias to derail the book review. She acted like she didn't know what I was talking about.
