Miami / South Beach. I thought it seemed depressed and sad.

Or you could have biked like most people on the island....
yup, we rode bikes all day, everyday. I’m not interested in riding my bike back from the restaurant, across the island, in the dark with 14 plus adults and children. ?

NP, and another meh for HHI. We went there with little kids, who wereWe not going to stay together and bike safely to our various destinations. Many of which were in strip malls, which are not my favorite places.

I might have felt differently if I loved golf and tennis. But for me there was no offset to the lack of walkability.

I could see that. We love Hilton Head and usually drive to the stores or to get dinner but usually we just like to cook on the grill and spend time on the beach and in our villa playing board games. There are some areas of Hilton Head that are better for walking than others though, in case you ever want to give it another shot. Sea Pines & Shelter Cove come to mind. There are nice views and restaurants in both those areas.

I bet you didn’t go to Kauai

that's actually exactly where we went. Spent a week there and a week on Maui.

what did you do while you were there? We loved Kauai. We hikes the Na Pali coast, snorkeled, swam at queens bath..

Key West - expensive and the beaches are too rocky.
Costa Rica - full of old men with their hired prostitutes.

This is the weirdest vacation criteria ever. Nice weather - check, nice beaches - check, nice accommodations - check, good food - check, convenient to fly in/out - check, good value - check. Not enough diversity? Oh, then I guess we won't go there. I've been to beaches all over the world, and I've got news for you, it's ALWAYS mostly white people.

Aren't you privileged. It makes people uncomfortable to be the only minority in a vacation destination, as if we can't relaxed. Plus, you must lead a very sheltered life if you only vacation where it is only mostly white people.

Florence- was really bored by all the same, religious art in the famous museums.

NJ beaches are a comparable distance and a million times nicer.

+totally agree with this. NJ beaches are so much nicer.

Awful. If you want beaches, go south. The only people I know who like northern beaches are the people who grew up in NY, PA, etc., and spent their childhood going to the "shore."

I go to the beach to swim and lay in the sun. If driving, you gotta go to the outer banks or farther. If flying, head to Florida, Mexico or the Caribbean.

the NJ and DE beaches we've been to have been so dirty and crowded. Like trash in the sand, trash floating in the water, people everywhere.
