Or the thousands of kids in one of moco or upper NW dozen of the best privates in the region.
This isn’t really intelligible but a MoCo magnet like TJ would probably pull down scores at other MCPS schools.
The Blair and RM magnets are the same as TJ and already drain the best schools like Tj does in fairfax. Moco also has an even bigger drain with the elite privates all over Moco and adjacent upper NW DC .

You can fit them in.
Howard county is never considered part of the DC metro area.

I'm obviously a DC parent of a much younger child--basically, clueless.
Student demographics. SWW is far more affluent and white. Banneker is majority Blck and kids who qualify for FARMS.
This helps explain DC and the SAT: https://www.collegeboard.org/program-results/2014/washington-d.c.
The achievement gap is HUGE.
PP here who posed the question--thanks. I didn't realize there was that big of a difference in demographics. I don't know anyone with kids at Banneker, and only one family with a kid at SWW--a black, Ivy-educated family.
It will be interesting to see how things change in DC over the next decade or so (that's when my kid will be in high school). I hope some progress will be made on the achievement gap.

Would have 14 of top 25
Apps /Axps/pwps/fcps/lcps
Would have 11.
OTOH there are 46 in the updated list with scores below the US average. Of the 46, 4 are from Virginia (1 from ACPS, 1 from FCPS, and 2 from PWCPS), 28 are from Maryland (7 from MCPS and 21 from PGCPS), and 14 are from DCPS.
What is the % of low income students in fcps, dcps, mcps, pg.. ? SATs are a reflection of SES for the most part. But, if you look at the top 10 schools on that list, areas where they are upper middle to upper income, that should tell you something.
% of students who qualify for free or reduced price meals subsidies
FCPS 29%
ACPS 63%
DCPS 79%
PGPC 63.8%
HCPS 21%
PWCPS 37.5%

This absolutely is not true.
