Some idiot came up behind me completely out of control, and instead of throwing himself on the snow or using a basic maneuver to avoid hitting me, he slammed into me full force. Huge, heavy kid. My body cushioned his fall. The trail was plenty wide enough to go around me with a slight bit of maneuvering, and i was happily working my way down along one edge of the trail, not in the middle of the trail. I didn't even have time to react before he slammed into me. I was out of commission for the remainder of our vacation, and barely made it back to the lodge on my own. It took a long time because I was injured and in severe pain. I am never going back. The main problem with the local ski resorts is that they're full of people who don't know how to ski and won't take lessons before getting on the slopes.

Yeah but it’s kind of like the HGTV shows where people want a bigger, upgraded house in their same neighborhood for the same mortgage they’re paying now. Good luck!

I wouldn't consider bear mountain hotel luxury. It is on par with a mid level Hilton or Marriott.
Okay so what are your top 5 resorts that have blue diamond hills and maybe a black diamond? All but one of us are beginners.
If you want actual skiiig go to Snowshoe. Or Timberline. But neither are a "luxury resort".

Only place in Utah that meets those criteria are PC/DV and conditions there are pretty bad so far this year. Plus OP said she doesn't want to fly. Did any of the PPs recommending Utah even read the post?
OP - I think you are going to have to drive farther for what you want. That or compromise on staying in luxury in a charming mountain town.
OP shouldn't have used the word skiing in her titles. You get a bunch of people who basically live for the 1-2 weeks a year they get to ski and they're going to give you recommendations on where to ski. Plus we're all talking to each other by this point.
