I call BS on this statement because despite the extreme poverty prevalent in these nations, the crime rates are nowhere near as high as they are in what you'll find in our inner cities. This is a cultural problem specific to Black Americans.

+1. DC would rarely be described as "exciting" by most big cities anyways. However it is more exciting than NOVA.

But MD really? LOL! If you think Bethesda living is "living on the edge" then good for you. I guess some will consider PG county exciting. I mean who does't enjoy 24/7 crime and police lights.

It's really not that big of a mystery. Criminals aren't stupid. They understand things like this. Pulling a knife or gun on someone in Georgetown will get you their wallet, cel phone, or car. Pulling a gun on someone 1/2 a mile away in Roslyn might get you killed. They know this.
