I haven’t received an email from her.
Was your email a non-apology along the lines of “I’m sorry you were offended”
When people show you who they are, believe them.

Was it supposed to go away because it's been 4 months?? Really?
This woman behaved like an ignorant 9 year old - it's very concerning and it deserves more attention.
Meh. It sounds to me like you have an axe to grind. I have outrage fatigue -- this simply doesn't rate. It was dumb, but I don't understand your impulse to try to make it into some viral pile-on.
OP here. I reported it. It happened. Perhaps it’s you that need to explain the distinction between acknowledging an act that’s questioble and generating a viral pile-on. Your definition?
Can someone please start a petition to have this board member removed?

Post the response, Derek.

You are absolutely foolish to think that only those organized by MCPC are upset by Dr. Docca's words. No involvement in MCPC, but my school's PTA and MCCPTA. Many of us are outraged.
Derek is paid to silence parents.
Then you should run for BoE from District 1. Or, if you don't live in District 1, you should persuade somebody else to run, and then work for them.
Here's a map of District 1: http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/Elections/Resources/Files/pdfs/maps/BoardofEdUpdWeb.pdf
For how to become a candidate, start here: http://www.elections.maryland.gov/candidacy/index.html There's a $25 filing fee.
So to whomever it is who keeps pushing the "shut up or run" sentiments, that's not how all this works. People are allowed to critique the actions of their elected leadership even when they don't want to run for office. That being said, I'd be surprised if Dr. Docca doesn't have a competitive challenger in her next election and she's far too tarnished now to get the teacher's endorsement.
It is how it works -- at least if you want to accomplish something. If you just want to complain, then yes, here you are, complaining.

The liberal BOE gets a pass every single time
