I think she will love it. Mine was 13k 8 years ago. My husband made a little less than you. Mine is 1.48 carats but it is round...they are the most expensive.

OP, just keep in mind that asschers are cut deeply in order to get that gorgeous pool of mirrors effect, which means a 2 ct asscher will face up smaller than a 2ct round stone.

Sounds like a great choice! One other thing to consider....will she be ok if she finds out the price? I have friends who wouldn't care and have friends that would be mad (even though they could afford it).
