The president represents the country. He’s supposed to be telling a widow he’s sorry for what HE asked her loved one to sign up for. The soldier took an oath and died for HIM, the sorriest US president to ever hold the office.

I would say that someone should supply the Dumpster with a cheat sheet to read on these calls, but I’m starting to think he’s illiterate.

Why is this democratic congresswoman politicizing something that should have no place in politics? The president spoke for 5 minutes with the grieving widow. And this democrat picked out one sentence out of context? Shameful. The widow probably hated it to see his late husband's death being used on CNN to attack the commander in chief.

Seems fairly respectful to me. The idea is that the guy is so brave and patriotic that he knowingly accepted the risk to himself in order to serve his country.

La David Johnson died for his country and Trump by his very words sounded like it was no big deal. Can you imagine if Reagan had said--well, they knew what they signed up for when the Challenger exploded killing everyone aboard? Can you imagine if after 9-11 Bush said of the Fireman and Policeman who died trying to rescue people from the Twin Towers--they knew what they signed up for? Me neither.
