So Trump has killed the ACA with nothing to replace it.

So the White House has been acting unlawfully since February? That sounds a lot like a high crime or misdemeanor to me. Aka-- impeachable. Did those f--king morons really just say they have been committing impeachable offenses?

PS-- you gotta pay for those tax cuts somehow. Robbing the bottom of the economic ladder of health insurance to pay for tax cut for the top .5% seems fair to me.

So, in other news, no more cost sharing subsidies. Trump just blew up the ACA with no replacement. His mignions will be thrilled. Unless they need health insurance and don't get Medicaid through SSI (which most do).

And now neither will millions more Americans, because Trump is ending by fiat subsidies that helped them get insurance. Apparently he doesn't like it that low-income Americans got health insurance. Those of you with serious medical conditions, hold on tight!

It was poorly thought out and rammed through. It's been a disaster. No need to throw more money at it. Everywhere this type of government run healthcare is tried, it fails.

Do you know what else was failing, even worse? The healthcare system that preceded the ACA.

That was true for some, not true for others. ACA created an entire new class of "underinsured middle-class Americans." My friend's SIL is a doctor, and he said he saw a big switch in his patient base - many more low income people (getting free care) and much fewer middle income people (who can no longer afford it).

Your friend's SIL?? Who uses a male pronoun? Me thinks you're fibbing.

Not only that, it's triple hearsay. How credible is that?

Why would it be incredible? Low-income people are now getting free medical care, and tons of middle-income have seen their costs skyrocket to the point they can't afford it. No surprise that this would be seen in the doctor's waiting room.

It's been a lifesaver for people with serious illnesses and no healthcare coverage. It has literally saved many, many lives.

You may think that's a disaster because your premiums are higher, but lives are being saved by ACA.

Why not push to fix Obama care and bring your premiums down instead of ditching the entire thing and letting the critically ill fend for themselves and die?

You can have both, lower premiums and universal health care coverage. It only requires political will. And the willingness to negotiate drug prices with Big Pharma.

Obama wrote into the law no negotiating drug prices with Big Pharma. Remember the WH meeting where big Pharma came out with smiles and changed to supporters? Big Pharma is a big time supporter of ACA,

The government doesn’t buy drugs under the ACA. Drugs are covered under the insurance policies provided by insurance companies. So how could Obama have done what you say? If you are referring to Medicare, there is such a prohibition, but it has nothing to do with Obama or the ACA.

Not to mention that fact that presidents don't write laws, congress does.

I'm wondering whether this would even get off the ground. The state regulators will sue the crap out of it, and they have a pretty good case. Plus, the 2018 plans are already baked. So would insurers even have the guts to offer new plans, knowing the rug could get pulled out from under them after Trump is gone?

So you want people whose lives have been saved by the insurance they were finally able to get through the ACA to die. Got it.

ACA was not a disaster for millions of people who finally were able to get insurance including several members of my family.

Np. Put me, politically, in the middle of these posters.

But one thing I will say, EO is not the way to solve this. Terrible.

No way. Executive orders are for defining how existing laws will be enforced or not enforced.

This literally would help no one for him to 'not enforce' the existing law.

It just goes back to Wild West. Wilder than before.

I've hated what ACA has done to me personally. But I blame how it changed the insurance companies' relationship to the market.

He's an idiot.

Raise your hand if you agree with him, and describe your thought process. I can take it down point by point.

For a party that just went on about DACA needing to be handled by the law, this must surely be an affront to you.
