It's strange to me because there's no point in comparing these schools because the commute will dictate what makes the most sense. For example, my DH works in Old Town and takes the VRE and I work in L'Efant and do the same. We chose the Robinson district because of the train since that fits our family's scheduling needs. I assume the same thing makes sense for someone who works in Tysons or Reston or Arlington. Marshall would make more sense then.

And for what it's worth, I actually like the 7-12 model. I found middle school to be less like our previous middle school experience (our oldest went to middle school out of state and there was a lot of drama, bullying, etc. Small pond.). Robinson seemed to be much more of a large city where you can find your place and there wasn't the level of academic intensity we heard about before moving here.

Do you have a child currently attending Marshall, PP? Did your child do IB? Can you speak to that, which is what OP was asking?
If not, why weigh in like this? OP's kid might love the ECs on offer at either school even if you had a kid who didn't. And it's not relevant to the original question.

I thought OP might be interested in other perspectives. If you think Marshall's theatre program is good, how about evidence of all the Cappies Marshall has won compared to Robinson, West Potomac, Fairfax, etc.

You didn't answer the question about whether you have a student at Marshall now, or how your comment was relevant to IB. OP is seeking input on how both schools run IB, not a vague opinion on ECs, especially if those opinions aren't coming from someone with a student there.

Why are you putting words in OP's mouth? OP didn't limit her question as you suggest.

I stand behind my recommendation of Robinson over Marshall, whether you like it or not.
