I have heard the same with the proposed LAMB expansion--until they're admitting more kids, all students at the feeder schools will be admitted.
So just check if you're applying in an expansion year.

given all the recent drama (pedophile teacher). MV sounds great. Love the Spanish aspect at both schools.
Aren't LAMB students guaranteed a spot at DCI whereas MV has to lottery? MV and Stokes both started expansion projects that put their graduates at risk of not having a guaranteed place at DCI. Now, you may or may not choose to take advantage of it, but it's not great when your school deprives you of even having the choice.
Yes lamb students are guaranteed a spot but Mundo kids must lottery.
Only Mundo kids in grades K and below.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:If you really want to know about MV, ask some pointed questions about exactly how expeditionary learning is being conducted. How student led is the learning, how much field work are they doing (and I don't count someone coming to the class an lecturing as field work). How many field trips are there in various grades? To where? When school was in MtP students were going to Rock Creek weekly for field work. My 3rd and 4th graders have not been out in nature all year this year, nor last year.
The school has cut back dramatically on expeditionary learning. The majority of time is spent helping below grade average students in math and reading.
