OP here -- yeah, actually I'm more like you. I have the clutter of a 3, but it is all in laundry baskets or boxes, or piled (pretty neatly in stacks) on flat surface.
I saw another checklist where you got "dinged" pretty severely for having more than 3 laundry baskets of dirty laundry in any one room so.... I have a new goal now.. no more than one laundry basket full at a time!
With all due respect, OP, you should get off DCUM and clean up the mess in your home. Fulfill your goal of washing dirty laundry rather than let in moulder and put away or get rid of whatever you are storing in the boxes. You are endangering your healthy with all that mold inducing clutter
Tell me something I don't know PP!
OK here's a different scale for kitchen clutter.
Are you a level
1) ZERO clutter on counter

2) VERY MINIMAL clutter on counter

3) GROUPED and FUNCTIONAL stuff on counter, not minimal

4) CLUTTERED COUNTER but appliances, sink are accessible and useful

5) CLUTTER EXTENDS TO SINK, appliances like stove can't be used without clearing
![]()
6) COMPLETELY RANDOM CLUTTER OVER ALL FLAT SURFACES

7) CLUTTER STARTS TO EXTEND TO FLOOR

). I couldn't sleep if I saw that mess.

OK here's a different one:
These are ridiculous. Anything above 3 is borderline unlivable.
Anonymous wrote:I just found this as I was researching hoarding and clutter. I'm at a level 2-3 depending on the day, which I thought was bad enough but thank heavens it isn't worse. They say level 4+ indicates you may have a hoarding problem.
Wondering what level other people are. Is everyone really at a 1 or 2?

I think I am comfortably at 1-1/2.
