We were married 10 years before I met his prior long term GF. I was like OMG, why didn't he marry her? She was gorgeous and smart and very friendly. I decided not to ask him! That was 15 years ago and we are still very happy together. I'm hoping that my great skills in bed are what made the difference but, again, I will not ask him!

I can't talk to DW about ex-girlfriends. She gets angry if I even hint at the subject.

He wants nothing to do with Judaism, including culturally. He doesn't consider himself to be Jewish at all (argue with that if you want, but it's how he feels). I honestly don't know much of anything about Judaism, and I personally have only ever considered Jews to be white, not ethnic. My bad. Sorry for the confusion.

Not to derail the thread, but Judaism is both a religion and an ethnicity. Not a race. (There are Jews from all over the world, so we can be white, black, brown, whatever.) For example, I'm white, secular/humanist, and Jewish. And sassy.

Thanks for the info. I think one of the things my husband likes most about me is how little I know about Judaism. Whenever I ask him a question about Judaism, he literally acts as though he knows absolutely nothing about it - which, given his upbringing and the first 20 years of his life, I know can't possibly be true. It's frustrating.

Almost all of us had the same major in college (not his major) or participated extracurricularly in activities that related to that major.

I actually lived with one of his exes for a while. We were good friends. We moved in together well after they broke up, and he started dating me well after she moved out.

I've met a few - one was a very good friend of mine who he dated briefly. She was definitely not his type but she did tell me he was great in bed. That intrigued me! Two others I've met over the years and they are very nice and I can tell they wish they were me. My DH is a wonderful guy and very successful and neither of them have had happy marriages.
