He wants nothing to do with Judaism, including culturally. He doesn't consider himself to be Jewish at all (argue with that if you want, but it's how he feels). I honestly don't know much of anything about Judaism, and I personally have only ever considered Jews to be white, not ethnic. My bad. Sorry for the confusion.
Not to derail the thread, but Judaism is both a religion and an ethnicity. Not a race. (There are Jews from all over the world, so we can be white, black, brown, whatever.) For example, I'm white, secular/humanist, and Jewish. And sassy.
