FTR I routinely look up men's criminal records, nothing wrong with that. I dumped someone immediately after finding a rape(!!) conviction. I did not dump someone with a domestic violence conviction and I regretted it.

My friend married a guy after dating about a year(great job, money in the bank, social, fit in with everyone.)He got arrested during a street fair for getting in a ridiculous fight with someone (drinking was involved.) She found out that an ex had a restraining order against him for domestic violence.

Yes you should dump him but I would do it either in person with friend near by or public place or over the phone. You need to be able to be real firm to let him know this is the end of the relationship and not to have any further contact with you. A text could be miss read or misunderstood or he could say he didn't get it.

Do it as close to face to face as possible and tell him why so that there is no misunderstanding and no hemming and hawing
