Funny, I get checked out WAY more as a brunette than when I had bleached hair. It didn't go with my coloring and washed me out AND my features were no longer noticable. Dyed it back to brown (or brown with highlights) and sooo much more attention. So no.

Well you're forced to be attracted beyond their natural hair color, coz everyone's is the same.

I'm a guy, and where I work there are a lot of Gen-X and some Boomer guys and tons of millennial women. There are also a few Gen-X women, some millennial guys, and a very few Boomer women. Literally 90% of the millennial women are nice-looking bottle blondes, and the few natural blondes tend to be Gen X/Boomer women. I'm sure all these bottle blondes look "shinier" and younger and more desirable with their blonde hair, but once it becomes an expected standard look, it comes across as being like a dress code, which is weird. It leaves a niche for assertive brunettes to stand out from the crowd in a good way.

A friend of mine who is naturally dark haired has been dying it blond for over 20 years...she is used to being a blonde hairstylezz. For her birthday, she treated herself to a brunette color, went back to her roots. She looked stunning! But, she found she did not get as much attention being brunette. Doors were not held open as often, and she did not recieve as many obvious looks being brunette...so there is something to the 'blond' thing for sure.

I used to be jealous of my blonde friends and only in the last few years have I felt my hair color was attractive. As a young girl I did not see many brunette sex symbols. These days, they are everywhere.

I think a lot of women who dye their hair blond would otherwise have a sort of ashy light brown that many people consider "mousy". That is true for me. It's not very pretty, so a lot of us go back to our childhood blond.

It doesn't brighten your face. It makes you look better by distracting attention away from your face.

Darker hair is a perfect frame for your face, if you're face is not great you're framing a not great picture. Blonde color or highlights will move the attention away from your face and become a bigger part of the overall picture.
