Oh please. If the woman had ever had a job that wasn't subsidized by daddy, maybe. But I guess we'll never know what she could achieve on her own since the nepotism rolls on. . .

Her book was written for women who *want* to lean in.

Yeah, I knew I didn't want to lean in before I got the book, I'm happy being the six figure worker bee, somebody else can be the boss/on the board, etc...but I still enjoyed and found some insightful tidbits in her book.

The people who hate Sheryl Sandberg because she's "telling women to lean in" are so misguided. Her book was written for women who *want* to lean in. It has a lot of practical advice for women who want to advance in their career. If that's not you, don't read the book. But I can assure that there is nothing in the book that says that "leaning in" is what every woman should do. Also, this is NOT a book about being a working mother. It's a book about being a working *woman* (though, of course, as
working mother, she has advice on that, too). My cousin, a 40-year never-married engineer, found it extremely useful as she navigates her male dominated industry.

Women cutting down other women.

She has to learn how to dress. She wears leather jackets with gaucho pants and stiletto pumps. It looks ridiculous. But the "I'm a just a mom with the same everyday worries as you" persona is getting old.

So if Sheryl Sandberg isn't a role model and inspiration to business women then who is?

what successful women do aspiring women have to look up to? Who should be our role models?

Why does everyone collectively need to admire Sheryl because you do? If it works for you then have at it. As a woman of color I am ambivalent about Sheryl Sandberg. She doesn't speak to me or for me. She doesn't have to.
