Perhaps a LAMB parent could simply ask their Principal, in person and face-to-face, whether this rumor is true.

I know LAMB is not famous for good communication from its administration but surely they would respond honestly if the question was put to them directly by a parent?

so almost a majority! Hence the reason a location for the whole school over by SD would be hard for (almost) the majority of families. Not saying they won't do that, but that has to be a significant consideration in their decision. As a Ward 4 family, we would probably do it, but it might also make a decision to leave the city all together that much easier.

But not a majority. And moving to ward 4 would make 6 7 and 8 have a several hour commute.

Putting extras on it. I commute from ward 8 to 4 in 30 minutes. Less on Fridays.

Well my commute from ward 7 to the Kingsbury property would exceed an hour and half. To South Dakota it is already an hour round trip.

So it takes you 30 minutes to get from ward 7 to South Dakota and you think it would take an additional hour to get to 14th street from SD?

Any chance this is all a ruse by someone hoping to move up the wait list?

Maybe you havent been reading the thread closely, but at least three or four posters have suggested that they have also heard this "rumor" that LAMB intends to consolidate to a new campus that it has already identified, and that is not one of their existing sites, within the next couple of years. Including OP who claims to have heard it from two employees, and another PP who identifies as a founding family and says "something suddenly fell into their laps" and that info about it is "leaking out before things are finalized".

If you want to put your fingers in your ears that's fine, but this would affect the whole community and should be flushed out ASAP if it's true, or promptly debunked if it's not.

I hope the school is only looking for schools close to the boundaries of both of those Wards. With all due respect to Wards, 6,7,8, you probably can't practically pick a school that will be most convenient for the 11% of kids from those Wards, but I understand your concerns. All of these considerations are likely why it has been so hard to find a satisfactory location.

Most of LAMB's families, especially elementary aged kids, live in areas with unacceptable schools. That's part of why they're there to begin with.

They can't easily leave - they don't have great options.

I would leave the school and hope they tell us before May 1st.

And the wait list is how long? They don't really care.

Well... if PP's kids are older than K, LAMB can't fill those spots. So they should care a little.
