You do realize that there is no private independent HS that is close to $27,000. Most HS are running close to $40,000 for 2017-2018

Primary Day parent here. He started out on the wrong foot. It was the most obnoxious back to school night I've ever attended. First there was a story about how people have a third child when they've reached a certain point in marriage and they have nothing to do anymore or to say to each other. Then a ridiculous all about me oprah style where all teachers names were shouted out to show how magnificent he was for knowing them and we all had to clap and look at the poor teachers faces and see how embarrassed they were. Then he said it was the children and parents that made primary day special which is true except that actually what makes the school an amazing experience for both my kids is the amazing teachers and Beako and he didn't even acknowledge the them at all! We all felt so badly because we could see their faces and they were obviously annoyed and hurt. Then there was a story about family that was out of place too. He doesn't understand us as a community yet. We aren't swanky parents. Primary Day went through a few years with really difficult and demanding rich parents but with the exception of a few families now most families are just normal families or moderate incomes who lead normal lives. We don't sit around drinking wine at our beach houses. We go to basketball games and school picnics and kids birthday parties. The old head got it but this ones doesn't seem to. Just no connection and being talked down to even when raiding probkens or when working on a parent volunteer committee. Obviously the board doesnt get it either. The school feels different and not in a good way.

Apart from your statement about the frequency of Beakos, everything else is opinion-based hearsay and therefore not really "proof" of anything.

ITs not misleading. Primary day is well known for refusing to acknowledge faults no matter who is principal. I worked there for years and still hear stories about the same problems with the same group of teachers who spread misery and have manipulated everyone around them for years. It's why I left and why I am not surprised to learn about unhappy teachers. As fir Beakos consider yourselves lucky. They used to be every week or two!

Except that it doesn't have a negative reputation. You took a few posts in a thread that contained critical views, assumed them to be true, and disingenuously ignored the vast majority of posts in here were quite positive and appear to be based on firsthand experience. That's like saying "The Godfather" is a bad movie because you once saw some negative reviews on an anonymous message board, even though it has a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

So what are the complaints against PDS exactly? Bad teachers n poor instruction. Or beako taking up time. Student stress. Or a cold and disconnected head?

PDS is a great school! Our children are very happy. The school does a really nice job balancing play and academics. We love the small class sizes and are very pleased with their teachers. They are kind and very dedicated. Mr. Lawrence is a welcome addition, and has made an effort to reach out and get to know all the families in the PDS community. As with any school, there are always changes when a new head comes on board.

This is just not true. It's a wonderful environment! The kids are so happy and it's a wonderful education. We love primary day and couldn't ask for a better school. It's sweet with a loving and devoted faculty who do everything they can to help every kid be successful. This chatter is normal for a school. Every principal has favorites whether they are aware of it or not. He has a reserved personality which is in contrast to his predecessor and doesn't naturally make a personal connection to families but he still cares for the community and is trying to get to know everyone equally well. He wants what's best for the school and you can tell. It's his first year. Give him a break! Primary day is a great school. Any kid would be lucky to start his or her school years off at pds. Best gift we could have given to our kids.
