Because they have a baby and things happen! OMG devoting one day a week to extended family when you have young kids is too much. He made it clear that he doesn't put his wife and child first. Of course OP feels like crap.

I would not be mad if I were you. It's one day that he planned with his dad. You should have gotten groceries prior to the day and 10 minutes is walking distance. There are plenty of things that could have been done to avoid this. You sound jealous, obviously there's more to the story. How come you don't plan dates, or family outings? Why does it fall on your husband? You sound needy. Do you have friends or family to hang out with?

Your husband should be prioritizing his family w/you first.

He is a husband + parent now and spending time w/you both should be his #1 responsibility in life.

He can also spend time w/his parents & sibling, but should do so only when you and your child are properly being cared for.

Tell him to pick up some groceries after his fishing trip as well as help you out w/some chores once he is back home.

Instacart or delivery food, in the meantime.

A long talk when he gets back.

Yep, he took our only car we have right now. To make matters worse, I even asked him to have his dad pick him up. He said no because he had to help get the boat ready etc. So our truck is 10 minutes away just sitting in his dad's driveway. They took his dad's truck.

Look, I am pp who suggested texting and staying calm. What you are doing is exactly the same as his parents. He is used to hysterics and knows just to weather it out. Start acting like an independent, calm person who isn't just another person throwing a tantrum. It might t take a while, but he will eventually take you seriously. If it doesn't ever work out, well better to be on your won than to spend every day crying and being miserable. Ultimately, you can't make him choose you and your kid, that is unfortunately not your decision.

Marriage counseling. This week. Stay with your sister until then - you need to talk this out in a neutral environment with a third party. Don't engage until you're in that situation.
