The ONLY reason she was even considered for this position was because she has donated TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS to the Republican party (that shouldn't be legal!).

What's even sadder is that they made her look like a complete moron (especially Al Franken... gotta LOVE that man!) & she's still going to get the position... whcih not only makes her a complete moron, it makes US look like complete morons.

This. People do see it. There's been a huge outpouring of calls and anger about this nomination, but it looks like she will be confirmed. It's beyond frustrating and embarrassing.

It's so frustrating that logical people would make a decision based solely out of fear & retribution.

It's not just DeVos. OMG director nominee Mulvaney (who was a member of Congress who worked to eliminate Social Security 'forgot' to pay his nanny taxes); Tom Price (another House member) has admitted to several ethically questionable stock trades involving pharmaceutical corporations he then offered legislation to help.

Senate giving all them a pass on issues that sunk Ds and Rs in the past and should probably be disqualifying.

yep. she and her private equity cronies see public school funding as an untapped revenue stream. it's sickening. reasonable people can differ on things like common core, charters, even the role of unions. but it is flat out avaricious and morally bankrupt to want to destroy public schools for the profit motive.
