I think my mouth actually fell open on this one. First at the weird "I have a very good eye for spotting fakes" sentence. Do people go around peeping at other people's watches to determine who's posing with a knock-off? And then that your husband would be so shabby as to mention it after TEN YEARS. And now wants parents to replace it? And is upset? And OP conflicted enough to ask on DCUM?

You both sound like your value things over people's feelings. Shame.

Maybe the husband is the one who swapped the real one for a phony and OP doesn't know

OK OP. So, you replaced the real watch with a cheap phone, and now you lied to your inlaws and want them to give you a free second watch by scamming them.

Did you sell the real one for drugs?

Well done DCUM Nation. I believe we have our second instance of full DCUM agreement for the 2017 year. It's rare to find it, so this is impressive.

(The first was last week's thread about the woman finding a "girl" in the bed of her estranged man and then staying there in the apt with their kids.)

Well, my in-laws buy me gifts of things like necklaces made of corn painted blue and then brag that it was marked down from 5 dollars to 3 dollars, so... I'd just appreciate the sentiment and take it as a nice gesture that they did this for you several years ago.

Your husband is an asshole. How dare he insist his parents buy anything. I would be completely embarrassed if I were you.
