It seems that something more than friends is there between us, but it is unclear. There have been so many moments of gazing and subtle touching and closeness that make me long to be around her. I am super attracted to her in every way and we get on so well. Feels like my soulmate. Alas, we have husbands and I don't think either of us would divorce our spouse.
Why would you need to divorce your spouse? I assume most husbands are like me, and would find it super hot if their wives were getting it on with the other attractive wife.

How old are your children?

Anonymous wrote:As I said, she is married so would never go there. I know she would be horrified if she knew I had feelings like that. I could never imagine us being in a relationship either and wouldn't want that.
It's a physical thing and there are parts of her character which turn me on. She would be very gentle and attentive I can imagine...relationship though? No way. Not sure if that makes sense. I hope so.

But of course, we live in a patriarchy, and the majority of men (again according to scientists) are straight- so they don't exactly want women to start exploring relationships with other women. Hence how that part of female sexuality is never explored
Link please? I am a 100% straight woman and I'm sure I'm not a tiny minority.

I'm the PhD PP. Couple of quick comments: Typically, media stories about research report where studies were/will be published. Doesn't look like this story mentions whether this research will be published in a peer-reviewed, reputable journal. Second, it only includes women. For all we know, "straight" men may also react similarly when exposed to naked photos of men and women--this study doesn't say either way whether women are more likely to be gay or bisexual than men. Third, they're measuring sexual arousal by pupil dilation. When I was in my grad program, we measured arousal pretty unequivocally, via genital arousal in men and women. Again, I don't work in this area anymore, but it seems that pupil dilation could be an indication of other emotional states besides sexual arousal, such as concentration, fear, etc. Bottom line: I don't think one study tells the whole story on female sexuality.
"The researchers said lesbians were the most like men in their responses because it is usually men who show distinct sexual responses to their favourite sex."

I think the scientists knew what they were doing. I also doubt anyone is trying to say that this tells 'the whole story'- but it certainly speaks volumes.

As a bi woman, this is how it starts! Now imagine that feeling between you two, magnified and expounded on until it just surrounds you. That is what it's like to date another woman- just feminine energy, magnified until it's swirling around you both. It's so wonderful. I honestly don't think my relationships with men could ever come close to what can exist between two women- though they are useful in other ways. But women with women is just so very special.
I'm the poster you responded to. I totally get what you've described. It is the feeling I have around this friend. My heart skips a beat when we are near each other, I think about her constantly, and we are so in sync. I have fantasized about being with her sexually and it is a major turn-on. We have kissed on the lips several times and I melt every single time and want more. The connection is just so intense all around.
There is nothing like being loved by a woman. Feminine energy is so giving, so loving, so all-encompassing. Male energy is much more demanding, kind of harsher. Female energy is just overwhelming in the giving aspect of it, the warm rosiness of it all. It's a very, very powerful thing. And so to have two of it in one relationship, building upon each other- sigh. Nothing like it.
