Im a woman and I feel sorry for you. I love having a DH who does all that kind of crap (taking garbage out, cleaning garage, killing bugs and car stuff!). I was single till I was 37 and yes I can do all that stuff on my own but its awesome having a DH who willingly does all that,

I don't like his cheap ass hooptie. He bought it against my wishes two years ago! Now, I have to deal with its sucky issues when he is gone.

I'm pretty helpless with this stuff and I could even drop off the car at our local mechanic or dealership service. Dealership will usually give you a loaner.

We have 3 cars so I would probably just drive another car until DH came back. I often drop off car at shop though since DH goes to work early. I'm 8m pregnant now though and don't want to take on anything extra.

My husband relies on me. He's from a country where labor is super-cheap. I, on the other hand, grew up poor. We fix our own stuff. I do all the generic car maintenance. I take it to the mechanic when necessary, so I know we won't get jerked around with some big story requiring a big repair.

There are basic car maintenance and repair classes out there, if you want. Some geared toward women.

I hate DH's mechanic! DH swears by him, but last time after he worked on my car he told DH he doesn't want to work in my car ever again? Now, I just go to the dealer!

If you regularly have car issues you need a new and perhaps different car. I have a 2005 Honda Accord that I take in for maintenance twice a year. I never have to fool with it in between.
