Without question. We take an extra week and pull her for it every time we travel to Asia. This is by far a better use of learning time.

I am an elementary school administrator and I would do this. I can tell you it happens every week at our school. Someone is always out for travel.

It will end up being more than 4 days as the jet lag on the return is brutal, so those first few days back at school, assuming you are returning right before school starts , will be wasted. not a huge deal though as they tend to be slower days anyway.

This sounds amazing! I'd definitely let my kid miss school for enriching travel.

My parents did this to extend our spring breaks all the way to 2 full weeks every year in elementary. We were broke so our vacation was visiting our grandparents in southern FL, which meant driving from PA- which took 2 days each way. I still hate long road trips but look on those trips super fondly. We had to do our "work" in the back seat both ways.
