Too many people in the U.S. (irrespective of party) are way to willing to believe the worst about Putin and Russia. And really most of the rest of the world. It was shown many times that U.S. Media routinely exaggerate numbers of victims in remote wars by factors of tens or hundreds. Same for numbers of people killed by various dictators etc. there is certain provinciliasm very wide spread in the U.S. In that they think the rest of the world except for Western Europe is hell hole. For whatever reason trump actually doesn't seem to have that particular affliction.
