My dad is a retired surgeon and there's very few breast specialists out there. Most of the time general surgeons do surgery on breasts. My father did many mastectomy/lumpectomy procedures over the years. He was fine with having patience which to either a female doctor or a "breast specialist" if that helped them to feel more comfortable.

I honestly think my father-in-law missed his calling to be a preschool teacher. He's so patient with my daughter, he loves to teach her new things and he's always coming up with different activities to do together. I asked him about it one time and he told me it just never even occurred to him to pursue early childhood education or a career in preschool.

My children had male preschool teachers and they were awful. Very gossipy.

Several male teachers at our preschool. The one my son had last year was positively the best thing that's happened to us, he was fabulous. I will be requesting that DD get his class if at all possible. The bathrooms are half walled into the main classroom.

I teach in a small preschool (not in the DC area) that was founded by a husband and wife. Both of them are excellent teachers; he heads up our music and science programs, and is both well-educated and amazing in the classroom.

But he will absolutely not ever put himself in the position of being alone with a child, just because of the possibility of rumors like this. It’s a self-imposed rule, and while I understand his feelings, I’m also sad for a society that casts aspersions on every male because of what some have done.

I love the "male teachers shouldn't take girls to the bathroom" argument. It's like: "let's definitely assume he's a pervert, but also assume that he's not gay. perverts can only be straight"

No I saw the same thing happen to a white male teacher. Remember all males are sexual predators.

I have both a daughter and son and I would have no problem with a male pre-k teacher. However, as some have alluded to, I would imagine why some parents would have a problem with it. Same legal liability as to why in some instances there must be a second person witnessing when one is being checked out by a male medical technician/doctor, and vice versa, why young female professionals have to be wary and second doubt their own behavior in certain occupations like a masseuse or to some extent even a secretary. Our perverted society has ingrained into our minds that all, if not most, men act on their sexual instincts if given the opportunity and that all men are innately sexual predators. Just imagine if DD or DS comes home one day and says one of the teachers fondled with him/her and out of the 5 teachers one was male. Who do you think it'd be? Exactly.

I would be ok with it but I get where OP is coming from.

I would not want him assisting DD in the bathroom. I would assume the female teacher would do this though to be honest.
I would be ok with a male teacher in K and up because they dont need help in the bathroom at that age.
