Actually, I'd call responding to the expressions of disgust while ignoring the more substantive arguments that have been against your position "a lazy way of arguing your point."

Very true. My son was wearing his Redskins winter hat and a young lady approached him and told him that it was offensive.
He turned the tables on her and told her that he was poor, he got the cap at Goodwill, it was cold, and it was a warm cap in great shape for two dollars. He then apologized to her saying he was sorry that the only cap he could afford triggered her. She literally turned beet red and left with out saying a word.
Love it when their PC nonsense bites them in the rear.

I played soccer and lived in a sorority house. We didn't do any of that stuff.
I was captain of a women's varsity sport in college, and we didn't do anything like this either. And I expect we would have faced severe consequences if we had; other teams were disciplined for alcohol violations. Athletes are held to strict standards.

Hard to take a stand because I haven't actually read the comments. I am going to assume, however, that they were beyond, "she's hot!" and in the territory of language that is sexually threatening, aggressive and/or violent. If the former, I think that the university would be overreacting. If the latter, the men on that soccer team who participated need to be punished. Suspending the soccer team would be a good start.

I don't think disciplining a sports team for institutionalized sexism and misogyny is hyper PC. If anything, I think it is extremely educational -- in college, you just lose your sporting rights. In the workplace, you get your ass sued to kingdom come if you carry on this way. It's a university -- they're teaching students. They do the behavior -- you have two choices. 1) Ignore it. 2) Punish it. Both teach the kids something.
So, take your complaints of pearl-clutching and shove it up your ignorant, reactionary ass.
