I agree that post-partum insomnia can be a sign of PPD/PPA.

Have you tried acupuncture? That and adrenal support (look up Gaia herbs) really helped me get my sleep back on track. There's also something in lotion form called Adrenacalm that might help, for acute cases. If you look up adrenal fatigue you might see that your insomnia correlates to one of the stages. It's easy to get this postpartum because the constant waking leads to "fireman syndrome," tired-but-wired.

Sorry you're going through this. It is fixable. Definitely go to the hotel and do whatever you can to maintain your sanity, don't listen to these people.

DH said that there was a link from Reddit here when that woman running for a spot on the DC school board came here and publicly trashed talked her opponent (something about a turkey neck?). I think some of the neckbeards from reddit stuck around to troll since the responses are all generally the same (I bet you don't have a job, shut up and be grateful, you sound like a b*tch, etc).

DCUM can be a rough place but the snark is usually of a higher caliber than the "make me a sammich" level of discourse these trolls are bringing.

The hilarious thing is that the types of comments these neckbeard trolls are making would be downvoted to hell if they actually posted them on Reddit, at least in the sub-reddit for Washington DC (which I assume this site was linked from). They are pitiful little cowards who aren't even brave enough to put a username to their sub-par trolling. Sad!

I'm sorry OP. I assume this is a 1-3 month old since you're up at 3am. Newborns are so tough and sleep deprivation can make you crazy. It doesn't matter whether you have a job or have multiple kids - this is a really hard stage. You'll get through it and things will get easier.

A little night rage toward your spouse is just another milestone for a new mom. Sorry OP, he is going to piss you off again. He will also (hopefully) find some ways to charm and delight you, and with any luck he will be the only person who truly undestands how wonderful your children are capable of being. It gets better.

that's what I do. silent mode and peace out till tomorrow. If there is a true and terrible emergency with anybody I know between 11 pm and 5 am then they should call 911. If it can wait till morning then it should wait.

Try a Benadryl occasionally, OP. Safe for breastfeeding if you do one every now and then. You'll be functional for night feeds, but can go back to sleep more easily.
