PP here who asked the question. I wonder whether the reaction would be any different for an Arab/African couple. I'm actually not Arab, but have been mistaken for North African before during our last trip to Paris (many years ago). Spouse is from a sub-Saharan African country. Couple of us in our family have Arabic names. Traveling with young kids this time so just wanted to ask the French PP.

Really? Paris is like London, very diverse, multi-racial and multi-cultural. We are a multi-racial family going to France once or twice a year on vacation in the South of France and no one blinks an eye either. Very different from what we have experienced here in the US...
