I am sorry your daughter is going through this. I will tell you from my own personal experience that you are doing more harm to her mental health by keeping her on the team. She can do competitive cheer and get a scholarship to college. You can also speak to the principal. I have done this and it went no where. For some reason, the school protects the coaches and not our children. You can also transfer schools if she would be open to it.

I would think of her physical health and mental health over scholarships. I would get her on a great travel cheer team and get recruited in that way.
This is not ok and I am sorry you and her are dealing with this.

Of course there are college cheer scholarships. For Power 4 schools they can be up to full rides. But, it is a ton of work too since you are starting in the summer and running through early Spring.

Now - what you did in high school does not matter at all. You should be working gymnastics and all-star cheer.

As far as high school cheer teams - send the detailed email to the coach. Details are important. Copy the athletic director and the principal. Ask for a response in writing which provides a plan to address the issues.

Omg you must be talking about Lee high school in San Antonio TX. The girls on that squad are totally hoochies. The bully my daughter bc they are jealous. She's a 3 time All American. The follow no rules.

I really would also like to know where these scholarships for cheerleading are. I know some schools will give between 500 to 4000$ in grants, but as a mom of a very good cheerleader I really can't find any real scholarships, and as pp mentioned it is not an ncaa sport. Apart from bullying in high school, any really, really good cheerleader is on an All Star team, and then maybe on a high school team as well. After all we have Twisters here in MD, and their F5 team won the worlds this year.

Look into this - cheer is not an NCAA sport so no scholarships so just drop HS cheer and continue with a competitive cheer team.
