First off, it is stupid to use a phone solely for internet. The font size is small for one thing, and you end up opening multiple windows as you click links. Get a laptop for crying out loud, and use it.

Second, there is ZERO reason to have 4 phones.

Third, as multiple people have said, wi-fi/hotspot can drain a battery quicker (I know this from experience).

As someone asked earlier, do you have access to the phone bills? If so, you can see separate logs (presuming the 2 phones are on the same account) for each number.

The next time you see or hear something, look at the screen. It will show for a few seconds the number at the very least.

To the person that says her and her husband do not lock their phones, that is downright stupid. It isn't a trust thing, what happens if you lose it in a store? Guess what, the thief could run up your bill in multiple ways.

He is apparently also switching from two work phones to one while they work out contract stuff I think.

What do you mean by "he uses it for internet"? Does he actually surf the web on the phone itself, or does he use the phone as a hotspot for wifi? If the latter, I might believe it because using your phone as a hotspot drains the battery very quickly. That's a really expensive hotspot, though.

Not true I do this all the time and battery life (of my 6) last for hours and hours and hours even on the hotspot

My point was that it drains the battery quite quickly compared to when not using it as a hot spot, leaving you with a low battery while out and about. I know because I use my phone as a hot spot sometimes.

Well. That's not been my experience... at all. And I use mine quite frequently as a hotspot. It does drain it marginally faster than if you left it totally unused, but nothing drastic. From a full charge I would say I can go at least 6 hours using my phone as a hotspot- so certainly does not seem like a valid reason to get a second phone.
