My aunt regales me all the time with tales of patients who deliver with the support of active, concerned boyfriends who are not the father (and know they are not the father). She finds it scandalous and typical of American depravity that it is actually fairly common in America for a man to take up with a woman pregnant with another man's child (we are immigrants).
That is so sad she feels this way. I have two friends who actually ended up meeting in later marrying men while they were pregnant. These were stand up guys who ended up being great fathers to their non-bio children.
No what's sad is those women chose losers to father their kids . What's sad is during pregnancy they were focused on finding a new man instead of focusing on being a mom.
OR maybe they were single women who had chosen to parent alone and had used ART to get pregnant so there was never "a man" in the picture to begin with and while they were pregnant fate brought their life partner into their lives. I choose to try to think generously and positively about people, you might try it sometimes, I promise you'll become a better person.
