I'm not saying you should go on a cruise. If you don't want to go, don't go! There are tons of other good vacation options.

So, my brother, SIL and their kids should never go on one, oh wait, they have....and enjoyed it, and done multiple ones. My parents have done over 10 cruises, and most of them were well before retirement.
Nice try.
To 15:32 - you are full of it.
OP, in your original post, you said you don't drink. Is that by choice? I am not sure if that has any bearing on why you would or not do a cruise. On Disney cruises, the kids have their own separate areas that they can hang out in for hours, adults have their own seperate areas as well that kids are not aloud to go in.

If you don't want to go on a cruise, then don't. But you seem to just be ranting here.
I have zero desire to go camping, but I won't start a new thread just to rail against camping.
On a positive note: we have tremendously enjoyed cruising with Disney.
I love when people come on here just to slam an OP for starting a topic that they replied to. We bitch about everything on DCUM. That is what we do. Don't come here and tell us what is and is not an acceptable topic in your personal opinion.
NP here and let's be real, no one (not even her real life friends) cares what OP decides to do on her vacation. When you start whiney topics you open yourself up to agreement and criticism.

Why would I want to stay in a smaller-than-normal room, take days to get somewhere, eat bad food, and only have access to cheesy entertainment when I could just fly there and stay somewhere nice?

Ok but do you ever get seasick..in general?
No but the ships are pretty well stabilized.
Ok this is my point. Everyone just downplays my concerns.
What if I do happen to get sick? I'm stuck being miserable for 3 days? Why is that worth the risk? Why do people always try to convince me it wI'll be fine????
I also get very sick in the back of a car and flipping forget about tour buses. Ugh. Blergh.
BTW I didn't try to downplay your concerns, you asked if I get seasick and I said no because the ships are well stabilized.
