Interesting that in every single one of OP's examples, you find it unbelievable that the woman would be desirable to the man. Have you stopped to think that you might be holding women to an unrealistic standard - that every man deserves a completely hot gorgeous woman, and the woman's personality or interests don't matter? That it all comes down to a woman's age and looks? I'm sorry, but I know tons of these couples in real life, people somewhat off in looks or brains or money or whatever.

I loved loved Char's first storyline. That sometimes things can be perfect on paper but still broken.

However, I did not believe for a second that such a beautiful, sophisticated, marriage minded woman such as Charlotte can be so miserably single in her late thirties. She'd have found a husband in college.

I found the friendships (except for Miranda--Charlotte in season 6) to be the most unrealistic relationships in SATC.

I've always thought Monica & Chandler were very well matched. I could easily see 2 people with their looks & personalities becoming a couple in a real life, particularly if they were friends first.

Now Ross & Rachel on the other hand....
