Stoned on what, pot? Pot does not turn people into violent criminals. Nor does being a little "kinky" in the bedroom.

Also, the interrogation was in Italian which she barely spoke - with no translator and no lawyer present. False confessions happen all the time under police interrogation, let alone when it takes place in a language the suspect hardly knows.

It wasn't the pot that screwed her- it was the police that screwed her. She wasn't confused about her whereabouts that night until the police told her that it was a fact that she was at the murder scene. She trusted them implicitly.
